READY TO LIFT OFF?

REBOOT, RESET, RECHARGE AND REMEMBER HOW

Why do 30 days? It’s a shot of inspiration. A burst of energy. A reset a reboot, like putting the car in for a service. It works and its better than the most expensive seminar on earth, a hospital bed. I used to do immersions, weekend retreats. Personally, I tried the immersions for a weekend or the spa’s for a week and they just don’t cut it in the long haul. The measured (university studies abound) retention of most things that happen in immersive environments is 10% after only 6 weeks. And after 12 weeks, near zero. Instead, the 30 day challenge asks you each day to measure your experience at trying something new. To really give it a go and then keep doing it for another 29 days or less. This 30 day program (I secretly call it the politically incorrect “EVOLVE-YA-BASTARD” program, a name that was emblazoned on over 100,000 bumper stickers in Canada for some time. Anyways, i try to keep it light hearted while talking about life and death, love and divorce, pain and suffering and a bunch of other rather unpleasant topics that merge to create the Champion Lifestyle. Forty years of experimentation and trial and error (plenty of the latter) goes into this beautifully compact program. Half way through well do a vision setting exercise that requires you to break your non alcohol month and maybe have a glass or two. Lets see.

DAILY ROUTINE

Like everything in life, the 30 days responds well to a routine that doesn’t change between Monday and Sunday. Everyday is a HOLY_DAY – holiday and only the primal differentiate between Tuesday and Saturday as some strange notion of Work and the Not Work releases us from a sense of depreciating grind. Every day is play, and only those doing it wrong can work out which is which.

  • Morning walk (before sunrise)
  • Look up to the sky before sunrise and say Hi
  • Burst training 3 times a week
  • Slow carb diet (See PDF below (its old)
  • No alcohol 30 days
  • Protein shake first thing in the morning
  • Corpse pose after exercise 10 min
  • Download the Walker email with your daily instruction
  • Eat 5 times a day no more and two handfuls and 1/3 water. 1/3 solid and 1/3 empty tummy
  • Avoid coffee if possible
  • A juice cleanse on week 3. (5 days)
  • Hug a tree at lunchtime (or at least look at one)

Cumulative BENEFITS

Rather than promise you the world and deliver peanuts I’m going to make a commitment. Each day you learn a skill. The next day another. When you learn a skill, that means you keep doing it everyday. By 30 days you are practicing 30 skills. The key is the more you practice the faster you get at doing the skill. Speed is of the essence because when the proverbial hits the fan, it’s the one who can instantaneously recognise the blessing in the chaos, and implement plan b, will lead. So, try to make whatever you do fun, because things that are enjoyable stick and those that are not, we have no discipline for..

Debrief does not mean take off your briefs. It means to have a chat about what each day feels like for you. Its a weekly or in the case of those doing 30 days for the first time, a daily chat. The key is to interpret whether you nailed it, understood it and most importantly experienced each day. Thats the real insight.
