DAY 2. LIFE BALANCE

LIFE BALANCE

THE HUMAN EYE, HEART AND MIND SEEKS BALANCE.

This simple word balance accounts for every movement in the universe, every stress, every depression, every success and every failure. We seek it in clumsy ways and this alone causes us the most challenge in our lives. Today I would love to demonstrate why most of the world is seeking balance and at the same time looking in places that cause problems. Listen to the three audio on your gratitude walks today. The text underneath each video is just transcript and no need. Homework is the emotional shower at the bottom of this page.

MORNING WALKER TALK – BALANCE

From a very young age we are encouraged to get high, be super happy. Moderation is never encouraged. The more enthusiastically high we become the happier our parents are. They reward themselves and their children for being high. But there’s a trap. Every emotional high is an out of balance thought. An emotional high, always has an emotional low. So, in a way, emotional high is the beginning of the mask, we disguise or hide or in the case of a business person, take home the low. All stress is a lopsided thought. A balanced thought, will see a equal good and bad in something. A balanced thought can never be stressed. Only a lopsided thought can be stressed or depressed. Finding balance is therefore a contradiction. We work hard and get tired and then on the weekend try to find balance by relaxing and not working. It is like a pendulum swinging from side to side, out of balance (stressed thinking) on one side and then trying to be out of balance (getting high) on the other. Some people even do it during the day, stressed at work and then anti stressed at yoga or meditation. Meditation causes more unbalanced people in the world than it helps. Because it pulls them to an extreme of high and relax them and makes the challenge of work even more stressful.

PIG POO BOOTS – COME HOME CLEAN

When we love the positive news, we hate the negative. And we love compliments but hate criticism. We love attraction but feel awful with rejection. And yet, for every high tide there’s a low tide, for every summer there’s a winter, for every birth there’s a death. Seems we put one of those high feelings up and hope like hell the other side stays away. But you know better. If you walk in the door of your house up yourself thinking the day just passed was fucking fan-bloody-tastic, your partner has a nature based responsibility to bring you down off your high horse and balance you. And yet, we say “I want balance” but when we get bought down from a false high, we hate it. I worked at a pig farm for my first consulting contract in my management turnaround firm. There were 1,000 employees who herded, killed, chopped and made bacon out of these wonderful pink things. Anyways, compassion aside, we walked around this shit, blood, pee, guts and brains to do our job and at night, I was always invited home to someone’s house for dinner with the family. Before we left the piggery we’d remove the heavy gum boots, the white blood stained overalls, the hair cover and get in a shower and scrub until our skin turned red. Then, with smelly soap, and deodorant, we’d all, the whole management team, put fresh clothes and go to their respective homes for dinner. When I went with my host, we’d arrive at their door, remove shoes again, go to the bathroom, wash hands again, take off jackets again and sit with strange slippers on for dinner. This was easy. But for those of you who work in corporate, you don’t see the pig shit on your boots, the ego, the stress, the depression, the frustration, the anger. It comes in on your shoes and clothes and stinks the house. And because you don’t smell it, you think it’s not there. I think the pig factory people are lucky. They can see the shit they bring home, but most business people bring shit home and infect everyone by talking about work, thinking about it, worrying about it, losing sleep over it and in doing so, infect their home with worse than pig shit. They infect it with emotion (unbalanced thoughts)

BODY MIND SPIRIT BALANCE ALL THREE

TRANSCRIPT FOR AUDIO NO NEED TO READ

There’s a race we are all in. It’s with ourselves. There are three of us, three selves in the race. And depending on our circumstances we often don’t know which will win. Your body, driven by emotion and feelings wants to feel more pleasure than pain. It makes choices, big decisions like who we marry and where we live based on that out of balance criteria. Not always good. Then there’s the mind. A real shit head. It thinks and thinks and thinks because it wants to get it right. The mind, and it’s navy, the EGO, seeks identification, an identity based on getting things right. It wants to be good without bad, right without wrong, success without fail and win without losing. It thinks itself to victory by making the body weak with exhaustion keeping it awake at night. The mind, the Incredible hulk, is a world unto itself and everybody thinks their watch tells the right time. We think we are what we think when the mind wins the race. The mind makes decisions that are right, logical, correct, positive, and goes where there is no danger (or so it thinks it thinks!). Then there’s spirit. Spiriit has a dream, a vision. It’s really not worried about “what if things go wrong” – it’s answer to threat is “whatever!” The spirit is the adventurer, the one who forgets to pay the mortgage, and sometimes does things that, when it wins, has no regard for the present or past. It’s off into the future. But you are none of these three. You are the conductor. And until you get hold of these three you’ll be seeking pleasure one minute, wanting to be right, identifying with what you think and chasing rainbows which might make the other two a little uncomfortable. So, when this happens, alcohol and drugs become the only way to reconcile it all. Not a good outcome. So, today we are going to grab hold of the reins.

WHAT YOU JUDGE IN OTHERS YOU BREED ATTRACT OR BECOME – SO IT’S WORTH DOING EMOTIONAL SHOWERS SO YOU REDUCE YOUR BAGGAGE. AND COME HOME CLEAN.”
